Hi. My name's Robin, currently living in Groningen, The Netherlands. I'm currently 17 years old and am a second-year business student. My camera has been around me for around 5 years now. I shoot weddings because those are great, positive, happy events, with all beautiful stuff, ready for me to capture. I like photography mostly, but I'm also a designer so that I can make you a great album design! And besides photography and design I also like music, playing tennis and keeping up with the latest tech news.
To explain my style of work and photography, I have to give an example of something I see a lot these days in The Netherlands. What I see is that when people need to find a photographer, they search the web for a company that will cover their wedding, most of the time the cheapest they can find. For that amount of money they will get a photographer that has, in most cases, no specialization in wedding photography. It's not unlikely that they will just show up at your wedding with their camera and give you a dvd with photos the day after. Which are mostly unedited. I'm talking about companies that offer cheap wedding coverage, but you will get no service at all in return.
I would like to change that situation. A large part of my prices contain costs I have to make, yet gladly make, to be able to give you a great album. I don't want to just capture the wedding, I want to capture the emotion as well. As I specialize only in weddings, I know where to be, what to do and how to work to get the best out of everything an anyone attending your wedding. I spend a lot of time in editing, because that's part of the deal, and it should be that way everywhere. I won't give you photos, I will give you photos with a story. Sometimes editing can be subtle, sometimes extreme, but it always adds up to the message of the photo!
And as I said, I don't do the "showing up, giving the disk"-weddings, although that phenomenon tends to be seen more and more. I want to give you something to hold, something to show to other people. Something to be proud of. And I strongly believe that a DVD with some shots that anyone could have made can not give you that feeling. Because only when you are proud and happy, I know my work has served its purpose well.
I will bring my Sony cameras, enough lenses to get everything captured and a professional flash for the tricky light situations. I always shoot in RAW, if you might be interested in that, because I like my freedom in the editing and it ensures the greatest quality.
Absolutely! The way I see it, editing is a part of photography. Like the dark room a decade ago, digital editing is the way of life now. I will edit all your pictures, none excluded. Because pictures don't just need to capture the moment, they also need to capture the emotion. I try to make certain things come forward in the processing. Editing is a part of my creative process and it will greatly improve your photos.
